Seven home games, home-season finale vs. Bowling Green highlight next fall’s slate
2026 Toledo Football Schedule
TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo announced its 2026 football schedule on Tuesday, with seven home games and a Battle of I-75 matchup vs. Bowling Green on Nov. 18 highlighting next fall's slate.

The Rockets open the 2026 season at Michigan State on Sept. 5 and then play three consecutive home games, beginning with "The Biggest Party in Toledo" vs. Central Connecticut State on Sept. 12, followed by contests vs. Temple on Sept. 19 and San Diego State on Sept. 26. This will be the first time the Rockets have had seven home contests on their schedule since 2018 and just the third time overall.

After a road game at Ball State on Oct. 3 in the Mid-American Conference opener, the Rockets return home for their Homecoming game vs. Buffalo on Oct. 10. The remaining three home games are vs. Western Michigan on Oct. 24 and mid-week MACtion games vs. UMass on Wednesday, Nov. 11 and the final home contest of the season vs. Bowling Green on Nov. 18. The Rockets will also play league road games at Eastern Michigan (Oct. 17), Sacramento State (Nov. 4) and Ohio (Nov. 27).

Under first-year Head Coach Mike Jacobs, Toledo returns an experienced offensive line anchored by four players with experience as starters. Junior quarterback John Alan Richter also returns, having passed for 699 yards and seven touchdowns across the past two seasons. The Rockets also added one of the top transfer portal classes in the MAC, with 11 players who earned all-conference recognition at their previous schools, including defensive end Andrew Zock, the 2025 FCS Defensive Player of the Year.
