Notes
Senior running back Quinton Broussard
(on gaining over 100 yards with most of it coming in the second half)
"You're out there to help out the team and give it your best. You're playing for the team and not for yourself. It feels good to have a game like I did tonight and I'm just thankful for the blocking from the line and the receivers."
Senior linebacker Anthony Jordan
(on whether the team expected a tough game against Buffalo)
"We knew we were in for a fight. It doesn't matter what team we're playing or where there from it's still Division I-A football. They've played some tough games this year against some good opponents. They ran the ball pretty well against us and we had to shore up our play in the second half."
(on coming from behind after falling behind in the second quarter)
"It was the first time we were down since the Fresno State game and it just shows the spirit of this team and how we were able to fight back."
Head Coach Tom Amstutz
(on Buffalo) "I respect their team. Their coach has them playing hard every week despite the disappointments they've had, close losses. For them to still come out and battle us like that, I really respect them. They gave us a good game. They're a tough team."
"I was proud of our guys for keeping our poise. We didn't play a perfect game, but we played a solid team game and came out with the victory."
"Quinton Broussard is an unselfish guy. He's listed fourth on our depth chart but he would be a lot higher on other teams. He keeps his focus. He'll do whatever it takes to win. We needed a spark in the second half and he gave it to us."
"We don't like being behind. I think it inspired us. We played hard when we needed to."
Buffalo Head Coach Jim Hofher
(General Comments)
"We just faced a heavyweight team, and I give our kids a lot of credit to be willing to go toe-to-toe for 15 rounds with a recognized heavyweight. I think Toledo is a really fine football team. In fact, I'm really proud of how our guys stood in there the entire time and kept slugging away."
(On his Team's Play in the Red Zone)
"We did hurt ourselves with a turnover down there and we also had another turnover that actually may have not been inside the 20 yard line. We had opportunities to score more than 15 points and we need to be able to capitalize on all of our chances."
