Toledo won at Ball State for just the second time in the last seven games in Muncie. The Rockets last won in Muncie in 1999.

Sophomore Greg Hay made his first start and tallied his first career interception on BSU's initial possession of the contest.

Senior PK Jason Robbins had a PAT blocked in the f irst quarter, snapping a string of 45 consecutive makes, dating back to last season.

When Ball State blocked a punt and recovered it for a TD in the first quarter, it was the first points surrendered by the Rockets this season in the opening quarter.

On a fake punt in the second quarter, Brett Kern completed a 34-yard pass to redshirt freshman Richard Davis for his second career completion. Last year, Kern completed a 46-yard pass vs. Central Michigan. Kern also threw an incomplete pass on a fake in the fourth quarter and is now 2-for-3 passing in his collegiate career for 80 yards.

Junior WR Steve Odom tallied his 14th career TD reception in the second quarter to move past Don Fair (13 TD's, 1969-71) into fifth place in school annals in career TD catches.

Senior RB Trinity Dawson carried the ball 25 times for 146 yards and a touchdown, marking his 10th career 100-yard effort in his career and his second in as many games. Dawson now has 2,781 career yards rushing to move past Casey McBeth (2,719, 1991-94) into third place on UT all-time rushing list.

On a crucial third-down stop in the third quarter, junior LB Mike Alston recorded his team-leading fourth sack of the season.

Senior Anthony Jordan picked off a pass to begin the fourth quarter and returned it 21 yards for a touchdown. It was UT's fourth defensive TD of the season. The interception was Jordan's first of the season and the second of his career. It also was the first TD of his career.
