Toledo Suffers 3-1 Setback at Northern Illinois

DeKalb, IL - Toledo (16-12, 5-10 MAC) dropped a 3-1 (30-19, 25-30, 30-24, 31-29) decision at Northern Illinois (12-18, 7-8 MAC) tonight and as a result saw its slim chance of hosting a first-round Mid-American Conference Tournament match vanish.
The Rockets' middle blockers led the way for UT with junior Kelsey Culver collecting 14 kills, four blocks and a. 480 attack percentage and junior Corrie Magnus notching 11 kills, one block and a .478 attack percentage. Sophomore Lora Sarich led the way defensively with 15 digs.
Redshirt freshman setter Sarah Kreher registered 27 assists, six kills and a .667 ATK% but was forced to leave the third game due to an ankle injury. She was replaced by freshman Emi Holsclaw, who was forced into action after not starting due to a back injury.
The Huskies were paced by senior OH Tera Lobdell, who collected 31 kills to become the MAC's all-time career leader in that category.
Toledo will close out its regular season on Saturday, Nov. 13 at Ball State. The Rockets will then hit the road on Tuesday, Nov. 16 vs. an opponent to be determined in the first round of the MAC Tournament.
