Rockets Tie for First Place at Falcon Fall Invitational

Bowling Green, OH - Toledo finished in a tie for first place with Grand Valley State at the Falcon Fall Invitational today at Bowling Green's Forrest Creason Golf Course. The Rockets and Lakers finished the 36-hole tournament with a team score of 619, 11 shots ahead of the third-place Falcons at 630.
Oakland's Mara Mazzoni and GVSU's Melissa Sneller tied for the individual title with a three-over par 147. The Rockets placed four individuals in the top 15 - seniors Sara Boogaard and Helene Thoman tied for fourth at 150, sophomore Kim Kester tied for 13th at 159 and senior Breanne Hall tied for 15th at 160. Senior Kristin Uhoda finished 34th place at 169. Sophomore Jenna Cox (152) and freshman Rachel Thomas (167) competed as individuals and finished in a tie for sixth and 27th place, respectively.
"I'm very excited with how we played today," said UT coach Nicole Hollingsworth. "We hung in there and brought home a victory with a good steady effort. Sara Boogaard, Jenna Cox and Helene Thoman each played extremely well for us and I was very happy with their play."
The Rockets return to action next weekend at Michigan State's Mary Fossum Invitational in East Lansing, MI on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 20-21.
