Softball Swept In Doubleheader At MAC West Leader Central Michigan

Mt. Pleasant, MI - Toledo (10-23-1, 1-10 MAC) lost both games of its doubleheader (12-0, 7-2) this afternoon against Mid-American Conference West Division leader Central Michigan (22-13, 10-1 MAC).
The Rockets were no-hit in five innings in the opener by sophomore Amber Puchalski as the Chippewas registered a 12-0 triumph. It was the second time Puchalski no-hit the Rockets and her seventh career no-hitter. She has allowed just one hit in 19 career innings vs. Toledo.
Central scored three runs in the first, one in the second and eight in the third to register the win.
In the nightcap, the Rockets fell behind 3-0 but climbed within a run thanks to an unearned run in the fourth and freshman Jessica Horn's sacrifice fly in the sixth.
CMU put the game away in the bottom of the sixth by scoring four runs, three coming on a double from Michelle Brander.
Senior 1B Deanna House paced the Rockets offensively in the second game by collecting three of UT's five hits.
The two teams will play a single game in Mount Pleasant at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
