Women's Golf Team Wins Second Straight Tournament

Richmond, KY - The University of Toledo women's golf team won the Lady Colonel Classic today in Richmond, KY. The Rockets had a 54-hole team score of 942 (315-313-314) on the par-72 Arlington Golf Club. This was the women's golf team fourth victory of the season and the most wins in a season since the program started in 1995.
Three Rockets finished in the top 10 leading the way were sophomores Breanne Hall (Kentwood, MI) and Sara Boogaard (Grand Rapids, MI) both tied for sixth place with a 233 total. Senior Keli Higgins (Rockford, MI) finished one stroke back in a tie for 10th place with a 160 for three rounds. Junior Angie Kephart (Franklin, IN) finished in a tie for 28th place with a score of 243. Junior Katie Schmidt (Columbus, OH) tallied a score of 248 to finish in a tie for 44th place.
"This was a total team effort," Head Coach Claire Batista said. "I'm really excited about how the team has played the last two week and we are looking forward to Ohio State next week and then MAC Championships."
Junior Stefanie Eifert (Cincinnati, OH) played as an individual and finished in 22nd place with a score of 240 (80-82-78).
The Rockets will next compete in the Lady Buckeye Invitational in Columbus, OH April, 20-21.
