Team Notes:
* The Rockets are now 3-4 in season openers under Head Coach Stan Joplin.
* Toledo now is 1-3 vs. Brigham Young in its history. The two schools' last meeting came in the 1955-56 campaign.
* The Rocket shot 45.5 percent from three-point range in the first half before missing on all eight of its attempts in the second half.
Individual Notes:
* Redshirt freshman Sammy Villegas opened his collegiate career by sharing the team lead in scoring with junior guard Keith Triplett. Villegas scored 13 points with a team-high three treys.
* Senior forward Milo Kirsh registered three blocked shots, the second most he has recorded as a Rocket. His career high is four vs. Akron on Feb. 7, 2001.
* Triplett and Kirsh shared team rebounding honors with five apiece.
* Nick Moore fouled out of a game for just the second time in his collegiate career tonight. The only other previous time was vs. Central Michigan on Jan. 24, 2001. The Rockets trailed just 37-33 with 17:55 remaining in the second half when Moore picked up two fouls 11 seconds apart.
