Head Coach Stan Joplin:
General thoughts on the game:
"BYU is a pretty good basketball team. I think our inexperience showed tonight. We took some ill-advised shots. We just have to bounce back and be a little more consistent than how we played tonight. We did a good job with our interior defense, but we didn't with our perimeter defense. They just broke us down too many times, and I thought that would be one of our strengths. We had some open jump shots that didn't fall, and having Nick Moore getting in foul trouble didn't help us either."
On what the Rockets can work on for the next game:
"We need to have more patience on offense and have better shot selection. BYU came up with a lot of loose balls in the first half and it looked like we were just watching. We need to be more aggressive and come up with those."
On Nick Moore picking up fourth foul early in second half:
"We thought we were in pretty decent shape until Nick picked up two quick fouls early in the second half. We were able to get the ball inside with Nick in the game and after that we started to settle for jump shots."
