WICHITA, KS -
Toledo (4-1) suffered its first loss of the 2001 campaign with its 3-0 (30-21, 30-17, 31-29) setback to the host Shockers (3-3) tonight at the Wichita State Green Mill Restaurant Classic.
Junior middle blocker Jessica Buck and senior middle blocker Lindsey Kretzmann led the way for the Rockets offensively with 13 kills apiece. Junior Becky Radomski paced the Rockets with 11 digs, and sophomore setter Carrie McCaw recorded 31 assists. Kretzmann and Radomski were both honored for their play by being selected for the all-tournament team.
"I thought we played well at times but we didn't have the effort from beginning to end that we're going to need to beat solid opponents like Wichita State," Head Coach Kent Miller said. "We're close to being a very good team and have a lot of potential. We just need to make sure we give an all-out effort on every play."
The Rockets will travel to Chicago, IL next weekend to compete in the Blue Demon Invitational hosted by DePaul University of Friday and Saturday, Sept. 14-15.
