Toledo Head Coach Stan Joplin:
"I thought we played very well today. We really took it strong to the basket and did a good job on the boards. Our defense also was solid today and we generated a lot of our energy today from our defense."
"We want to finish the season strong as we prepare for the MAC Tournament. This is a good start for us. Now we have to go to Buffalo on Monday before returning home to face Eastern Michigan on Wednesday. We'll just try to keep the momentum from this game going."
Greg Stempin:
"We just did the little things better today and played defense a lot better than we did against Central Michigan. We took the ball to the basket strong and if we continue to do that we'll be in good shape."
On UT's remaining games heading into the MAC Tournament:
"This was definitely a good start for us as we get ready for the MAC Tournament. We want to win our remaining four games before we go into the MAC Tournament."
Craig Rodgers:
On the importance of today's game after losing to CMU:
"This game was real important for us. We can't afford to lose any more games and we wanted to come out and play hard. This is the first of our last five games and we want to go into the MAC Tournament playing well."
On the Rockets' height advantage of WMU:
"We knew we could crash the boards because their tallest guy is 6-7. We just went hard and tried to stay off their backs so we wouldn't foul them."
WMU Head Coach Robert McCullum:
"We played a Toledo team today that was just superior in every area of the game. We've struggled defensively all year. When you have as young as team as we do the hardest thing to teach is man-to-man defense. That was never more evident than today. Being able to contain dribble penetration is probably the biggest problem we had today."
"You pick your poison against them because they can shoot outside and take the ball inside. They are so balanced offensively and they are a very good team."
