Team Notes:
Toledo has won 12 consecutive MAC regular-season games dating back to last year to establish a new school record. The Rockets are four wins away from equalling Miami's MAC record of 16 established during the 1956-57 and 1957-58 seasons.
The Rockets have also won six straight MAC road games.
The Rockets outrebounded an opponent for just the third time this year. UT's 42 rebounds equal its second-best rebounding total this season, five short of its season high of 47 vs. SE Missouri State in its season opener.
UT is now 9-1 when it shoots more than 20 free throws in a game. The Rockets have more free throw attempts than their opponents in all but two games this year -- both losses to St. Bonaventure and Fresno State.
UT limited Western Michigan to 41.4 percent shooting from the field and has held all but one opponent this year to a 50 percent or under field-goal percentage, including eight opponents under 43.1 percent.
Player Notes:
Senior forward Greg Stempin hauled down a season-high 15 rebounds to go along with his 20 points. He also hit 4-of-7 from three-point range and is 9-of-15 (.600) from beyond the three-point arc in his last three games.
Senior guard Rory Jones came off the bench to score a career-high 14 points while playing a career-high 26 minutes. He also equalled career bests for rebounds (6) and assists (3).
Sophomore forward Milo Kirsh scored a season-high 11 points, thanks to a 9-for-11 performance from the charity stripe. Kirsh helped the Rockets scored nine points (7-of-7 from the line) to help UT to its 12-point halftime lead.
Freshman guard Terry Reynolds scored 18 points for UT and is averaging 17.5 points and 6.5 assists in his first two MAC games.
Sophomore guard Nick Moore (15 pts.) has scored in double figures in six straight games and is averaging 11.8 points over that stretch. Moore is now averaging 10.0 points per game to give the Rockets four players averaging double-figure point totals.
