Toledo Head Coach Stan Joplin:
"It's nice to get back to playing basketball the way we did before. We talked to the players about having our energy come from our defense and not our offense. We didn't shoot a lot of three tonight, passed up a lot of shots and penetrated and took the ball to the basket strong to get them into foul trouble. I was really happy with our defense also.
"I told the players we're not going to talk about winning. We're going to talk about improving and what we have to do to make ourselves a better basketball team. We wanted to get back how we played earlier in the year against Detroit, Xavier, Cincinnati and in our Kansas City tournament."
On getting the ball inside to Greg Stempin:
"Greg has to be aggressive inside, because he can get eight to 10 points from the free throw line. He was shying away from taking the ball to the basket and not being agressive and that was taking a lot away from his basketball ability."
Toledo guard Nick Moore
On the difference in the game:
"Our ball movement really helped us get some open looks. We got the ball inside and back to our bread-and-butter game. We all played a lot less selfish."
On getting the ball to Greg Stempin in the post:
"We were getting him the ball on the wing and he was driving and drawing fouls. Whenever he would drive, the defense would collapse and open things up."
Toledo forward Greg Stempin
"It feels great to finally win. We all decided that we want to play well, win and end the season on a good note. We are starting to play together again and we are communicating well."
On reaching the peak of MAC play:
"We feel like we are still one of the best teams in the conference. We just haven't been shooting the ball well. Once we get things back to normal we'll be fine."
Ohio Head Coach Larry Hunter
On his team's 3-point shooting performance (1-21):
"Toledo had great energy on both ends of the floor. I think their pressure bothered us quite a bit. We never established an inside-outside game and you have to do that to score enough points to win on the road."
On his team's defense in the last five minutes:
"We did well pressuring them. We just couldn't take advantage after they commited a turnover. We struggled to finish."
