Softball Posts First Victory Of Season (March 6)

ORLANDO, FL - The Rocket softball team (1-1) banged out 11 hits in its 10-2 romp over North Carolina A&T on Monday.
Sophomore pitcher Colette McMasters led the way by going 3-for-3 with three runs scored, while freshman center fielder Jenny Schaaf turned in a 2-for-5 performance including a two-run homer.
McMasters also sparkled on the mound by fanning 10 batters while pitching a three-hitter.
"Our offensive production is really a positive sign for us," UT Head Coach Michelle Fagnant said. "We were able to group base hits together and combined with our agressive baserunning allowed us to generate our offense.
"After not scoring a lot of runs last year, our offense is going to be a key this season and this will help our confidence."
