Dillon Horter joined the Toledo staff in March 2023 as Associate Director of Development.
Prior to joining Toledo’s development team, Horter spent three years at Illinois State in various roles. He joined the Illinois State Athletics Department in June 2020 as the Director of Operations Graduate Assistant for the Track & Field and Cross Country programs. In June of 2021, Horter assumed the position of Development Graduate Assistant before being hired full-time as Special Assistant for Executive Operations and Development in March 2022. He was elevated to Director of Sales and Fan Development in June 2022.
As Director of Sales and Fan Development at ISU, Horter’s duties included leading and designing campaigns for ticket sales to target and fulfill season, partial-season, group, and hospitality opportunities. In addition, Horter oversaw a sales team that generated revenue for multiple athletics entities from existing and new external avenues. He also developed and implemented outreach initiatives aimed to increase community interest in Redbird Athletics.
A UToledo graduate, Horter served as a student manager for the Rockets' men's basketball program. During his time at Toledo, Horter also interned in the compliance and development departments. He has also completed professional practices in the development departments of both Louisiana Tech University (LTAC) and The University of Illinois (I-FUND).
Horter is a native of Liberty Township, Ohio and graduated Magna Cum Laude from The University of Toledo in 2020 with degrees in Criminal Justice and Political Science. He earned a Master’s Degree in Sport Management from Illinois State in 2022.
