Men's Tennis will be represented by Poonthong Komolpisut and Pannawat Suttisomboon at the ITF World Tour M15 in Ann Arbor, Mich. this week. Qualifying play begins on Monday afternoon. Komolpisut led the Rockets in their first action of the 2026-27 school year at the Everybody vs. Cancer Invitational with an undefeated singles record. He also reached the semifinals of the doubles competition with teammate David Perret.

Women's Soccer begins the month of October at home against Akron on Thursday. Kickoff from Paul Hotmer Field is at 7 p.m. on ESPN+. Thursday's match will celebrate Toledo's international student community during International Night. International clubs will be present with an international parade during halftime. The Rockets will then finish the week on the road, taking on UMass on Sunday with a 1 p.m. start. Toledo is 5-3-2 and tied for fifth in the MAC standings with four points (1-1-1).

WOMEN'S TENNIS
Friday-Saturday, Oct. 2-3 / Rocket Invitational / UT Varsity Tennis Courts

Women's Tennis continues fall competition at home with the Rocket Invitational on Friday-Saturday at the UT Varsity Tennis Courts. The Rockets will compete against Bowling Green, Dayton and Youngstown State in singles and doubles play. In the first fall action of the season last weekend, UT amassed a 25-5 overall record and was led by Gaby Rondon who had a perfect 6-0 record through singles and doubles play.

CROSS COUNTRY
Friday, Oct. 2 / at Joe Piane Invitational / South Bend, Ind. / 10 a.m. / Live Results

Men's & Women's Cross Country will travel to South Bend, Ind. for Notre Dame's Joe Piane Invitational on Friday, Oct. 2. The women moved up four spots to No. 21 in the national rankings last week, while the men remained at No. 6 in the Great Lakes Region rankings. Senior Joad Martinho was named the MAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week last week for the second time in his career. He placed 10th against a loaded field at Indiana State's John McNichols Invitational, running 23:58.4 in the 8K against a field of 14 nationally-ranked teams. He finished just six seconds out of sixth place. The women finished ahead of three nationally-ranked programs in the race with its fourth-place showing and 124 points. Freshman Purity Chepkirui recorded her second consecutive top-10 finish as a Rocket as well.

Volleyball returns to Savage Arena for its first home MAC contests of the season. The Rockets opened league play with a 3-0 sweep over Akron and a 3-1 decision over Buffalo and head into the weekend with a 10-2 (2-0 MAC) record. Prior to Friday's match, the jersey of program all-time kills leader Taylor Alt will be retired. Fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 5:50 p.m. for the pre-match ceremony. On Saturday, Toledo will be wearing its Glass City warmups. Fans can bid on the team worn gear until Oct. 12 at UTRockets.com/GlassCity. Ava Siefke continues to lead the squad in total kills with 128 (2.91 kills/set) while Grace Freiberger is pacing the defense with 169 total digs (3.76 digs/set).

SOFTBALL

Softball kicks off its 2026 fall season at Michigan on Friday. The Rockets welcome in 11 newcomers, including six transfers and five freshmen, to the Glass City for the 2026-27 roster joining 11 letterwinners from last year's squad.

WOMEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING
Saturday, Oct. 3 / Blue vs. Gold Meet / Student Recreation Center / 8 a.m.

Women's Swimming & Diving will host its annual Blue vs. Gold Meet on Saturday morning at the Student Recreation Center. The team will compete against each other in various events. The Rockets brought in five newcomers, including four freshmen and one transfer, and welcome back 15 letterwinners from last season.

FOOTBALL

Football begins MAC play on Saturday, when the Rockets take on Ball State at 2 p.m. in Muncie, Ind. The game will air on ESPN+ and the Rocket Radio Network. Toledo (3-1) carries a three-game winning streak into MAC play after crushing San Diego State, 41-16 at home in Week 4.

MEN'S GOLF

Men's Golf was ranked No. 30 in the first Bushnell/Golfweek Division I Coach Poll that was announced last Friday. Defending national champion Auburn is ranked first in the poll and is followed by Oklahoma State, Arizona State, Illinois and Texas Tech.

The Rockets finished one stroke behind the Tigers at the Inverness Intercollegiate on Sept. 13-15. UT also finished ahead of the No. 5 Red Raiders, No. 7 Tennessee, No. 10 Vanderbilt, No. 17 LSU, No. 18 Oklahoma, No. 25 Ohio State, No. 26 Ole Miss and No. 28 Virginia in the tournament. Toledo will be idle until returning to competition on Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 12-13 at the Purdue Fall Invitational.
