Consandria Walker-Hall is in her first season as the assistant women’s track & field coach at the University of Toledo. Walker-Hall comes to Toledo with 10 years of coaching experience at Northeastern and the University of Massachusetts Boston.
“I would like to thank Director of Track and Field & Cross Country Andrea Grove-McDonough for the opportunity to be an integral part of the growing success here at Toledo,” said Walker-Hall. “I am truly honored to be entrusted with the development and success of our student-athletes and our track and field program”
“We are super excited about the energy and leadership skills that Consandria brings to our program,” said Grove-McDonough. “I have a tremendous amount of confidence in her to lead this group of young women. She understands the need of today’s student-athlete academically, athletically and socially. She fits in perfectly with our philosophy and vision for the program, which is to win an outdoor MAC championship.”
Walker-Hall served as associate head track & field coach at Northeastern University, her alma mater, from 2018 to 2020, where she focused primarily on women’s sprints and men’s and women’s horizontal jumps. She also was responsible for meet management, travel logistics and recruiting.
For eight years from 2010 to 2018, Walker-Hall served as head coach of the University of Massachusetts Boston men’s and women’s cross-country and track and field programs. During her tenure, she transformed the Beacons into one of the most widely respected track and field programs in the country. As the 2018 USTFCCCA Division III Indoor National Coach of the Year and the 2017 USTFCCCA Division III New England Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Coach the Year, she led the program to back-to-back NCAA Track and Field Championships; prior, the program had not won any championship victories since 1987.
Student-athletes under Walker-Hall set over 50 school program records. These athletes also garnered numerous weekly and seasonal honors from both the Little East Conference and the USTFCCCA. She has coached several Little East Conference major award winners, while 17 student-athletes have qualified and competed at DIII National Championships.
The Beacons shocked the track and field world at the 2018 Indoor Championships, with Wadeline Jonathas winning four individual Indoor national titles and Taylor Driggers picking up six points in the Long Jump. At the Outdoor Championships, Walker-Hall put together a tremendous team that included Oneida Bean, Taylor Driggers, Wadeline Jonathas and Olivia Burnes to claim the program's second NCAA Outdoor crown in program history. A total of 13 All-American honors were bestowed on the Beacons women's track and field team, while the men's 4x100-meter relay team consisting of Garth Miriyoga, Stefan Powell, Dominic Nda and Bless Amedoadzi became the first group of men sprinters to ever earn All-America honors in the program's history.
Walker-Hall also coached nine-time All American Hulerie McGuffie to a back-to-back indoor and outdoor 400m national titles in 2015-2016 season. Both Hulerie McGuffie and Wadeline Jonathas sit on the USTFCCA All-Time Top 10 indoor and outdoor list for their respective events. Walker-Hall also coached several first for the men’s program at UMass Boston, most notably Dominic Nda became the first Beacon All-American in the men’s 60m dash. Walker-Hall also mentored three-time All American Carl Joseph in the men’s high jump.
In addition to her coaching career, Walker-Hall served for two years as an adjunct professor at Fisher College, Boston campus, where she shared her expertise to the sport management program.
Originally from Montego Bay, St. James, Jamaica, Walker-Hall holds a bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University in human services with a minor in sociology. She received her Master’s Degree from Lasell College in sports management in 2015.
Walker-Hall holds USTFCCCA Sprint, Hurdle and Relay Event Specialist Certification, Strength and Conditioning Certification. In addition she is a USA Certified Track and Field Official.
Walker-Hall and her husband, Frankie Hall Jr., have three daughters, Joi, Jamaiya and Jaidah.
