As a Junior (2017-18): 5-12 (1-6 MAC) in singles and 3-7 (2-1 MAC) in doubles ... Won three matches in two sets and fought off two match tiebreaks.
As a Sophomore (2016-17): Named Academic All-MAC … Earned Toledo Men’s Tennis Most Improved Player award … Recorded a doubles record of 6-4 while owning a singles match record of 9-12 … Defeated Boise State’s Ryland McDermott and Harvey Shackleton (6-1) … Defeated Nebraska’s No.3 doubles pair of Toby Boyer and Jon Meyer (6-2) … Earned back-to-back three-set singles victories over Wayne State’s Clement Charriere (6-4, 4-6, 6-0) and Youngstown State’s Luke Purser (6-4, 1-6, 7-6).
As a Freshman (2015-16): Finished season with an 8-16 singles record and a 6-11 doubles mark...Named Team's Newcommer of the Year...Won three-straight matches at Purdue Invite to advance to Flight E championship match...Defeated Chase Peery of Aquinas College in straight sets at fifth singles (6-2, 6-3)...Downed Denison's Colin Bahin, 6-1, 7-5, at No. 5 spot...Claimed three-stright doubles victories at Rocket Invite with Juan Carranza, Vince Anzalone, and Serjen Olmedo.
High School: Finished his senior year with a record of 23-4 (96-18 career) and was named 2014 NWOTA player of the year. Earned second-team OHSAA all-state, first-team OTZ all-state, first-team all-district, and FHS scholar athlete accolads as a senior. Also was a NWOTA Qualifier Champion and the 2015 district and sectional champion. As a junior, he ompiled a 25-6 record at No. 1 singles and was the TRAC runner-up, while qualying for the Ohio state tournament and being named All-Ohio honorable mention. Teatsorth is also a three-time all-selectional selection and two-time all-district selection and was named the sectional champion as a junior. Teatsorth is a three-time first-team Three Rivers Athletic COnference selection, and was the TRAC champion at No. 2 single as a sophomore.
Personal: Son of Neil and Barbara Teatsorth...Has one brother, Ryan Sottoway (27), and one sister, Ashley Sottoway (24)...Plans on majoring in kinesiology.
