University of Toledo Athletics

Mackenzie Springer has been a member of the University of Toledo sports medicine staff since July 2018 and was promoted to Director of Sports Medicine Operations in August 2023. She provides direct care of the men's and women's golf teams as well as oversight of the men's and women's cross country, track and field, volleyball and the cheerleading teams. Springer also analyzes and tracks the business performance of the sports medicine department and acts as the insurance and hospital liaison. 

As an assistant athletic trainer, she previously worked directly with the women’s volleyball program while overseeing the graduate assistant athletic trainers covering the track & field and men’s and women’s cross country programs.

Prior to assuming her current position, Springer served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the Rockets' women’s volleyball team while completing her master’s degree in 2018. Springer earned her bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Ohio University in 2016. 

A native of Columbus, Ohio, Springer  is a certified athletic trainer in the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.
