Kirk joined the staff in October 2023 as an assistant cross country coach. Later that fall, Toledo would win the MAC Women’s Cross Country Championship and finish runner-up in the men’s championship. Dennis Mutai went on to become UT’s first-ever individual MAC champion in men’s cross country.
