Earned second-team all-state honors as a cornerback and honorable mention honors as a wide receiver...Led the state in interceptions with 13 to go along with 56 tackles and 20 pass breakups... Helped his team make the Class 3A state championship game...Was the Pirates’ leading receiver with 34 catches for 868 yards and seven TDs...Earned first-team all-district honors on both offense and defense...Chosen to play in the Texas All-Star Game...Injured for most of his junior season, but did manage three interceptions and 17 tackles on defense, as well as 12 receptions for 360 yards and three TDs on offense...Member of school’s 4x100 relay team that finished runner-up in the state championship meet, and the 4x200 relay team that finished fourth in his junior year.
