First meeting since 2015 against Toledo's former conference foe
TOLEDO, Ohio – Coming off its first win of the season, the Toledo football team continues a three-game homestand on Saturday against Temple at the Glass Bowl. Kickoff is at 3 p.m. on CBS Sports Network and the Rocket Radio Network.
The Rockets (1-1) marked the first win of the Mike Jacobs era in resounding fashion in a 63-10 triumph over Central Connecticut State. Toledo took a 14-3 lead over the Blue Devils in the first quarter before scoring three touchdowns each in the second and third quarters to turn the game into a blowout. Ten different Rockets contributed touchdowns.
The Rockets have won their last seven games at the Glass Bowl by an average margin of 40.3 points. Temple (1-1) fell to Penn State, 27-9, in Philadelphia in Week 2. Saturday will be the 12th all-time meeting between UT and Temple, and the first since 2015 when Toledo won 32-17 in the Boca Raton Bowl. Saturday will be the teams' first meeting at the Glass Bowl in 17 years.

• Toledo is 8-3 in the all-time series, with a 3-2 record at home.
• The Rockets will play just their second game ever against a team from the American Athletic Conference, having previously recorded a loss to former member Cincinnati in 2014.
• Toledo's longest play of the 2026 season came last week when John Alan Richter connected with wide receiver Rico Bond for an 85-yard catch and run for a TD. It was the longest pass of Richter's career and the longest catch of Bond's career.
• Senior running back Connor Walendzak found the end zone twice against CCSU - one rushing and one receiving TD. It marked the first multi-TD game of his career and his first career receiving touchdown.
• The Rockets allowed just 139 yards of total offense and seven first downs against Central Connecticut State. Julian Fox (8) and Isaac Zay (7) were the Rockets' leading tacklers for the second straight week, while Zay also grabbed his first career interception.
• John Alan Richter is coming off a career-high 252 yards against Central Connecticut State. The junior quarterback leads the MAC with five touchdown passes this season. He's only thrown one interception.
• The Rockets return just one starter from either side of the ball from last season. Toledo is one of just five teams in the FBS with one or no returning starters from 2025.
