Four or more Rockets named to academic squad for eighth-straight year
TOLEDO, Ohio - The University of Toledo men's golf program placed four student-athletes on the Academic All-MAC team, the league office announced on Thursday. The Rockets' four honorees mark the eighth-straight season that four or more Toledo golfers have been honored.
Redshirt junior Mason Deal and senior Mads Jensen were honored for the second time, while sophomore Bence Bertényi and senior Bence Kotel received the honor for the first time.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have competed in the team's lineup in at least 50 percent of the contests. First-year students and transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award. First-year students and ANY transfer in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.Â
