Two Rockets Earn NIC B Cuts as UT Concludes Day Two of MAC Championships

Helena Pinto Coelho Lopes and Janne Slegers tally NIC B cut times in the 50 free
AKRON, Ohio – The Toledo women's swimming and diving team wrapped up day two of the Mid-American Conference Championship meet on Thursday night in Akron, Ohio with a pair of Rockets posting NIC B cut times.
Two Rockets competed in the 50 free, led by Helena Pinto Coelho who earned 12th overall with a mark of 23.04, tallying the sixth overall time in program history. Janne Slegers followed closely behind, taking 13th with a time of 23.09. Both Lopes and Slegers earned NIC B cut times with their results.
Two freshmen competed on Thursday, with Kenzie Robinson recorded the seventh fastest time in program history in the 50 free with a time of 23.24 in the preliminary competition in the morning. In the evening 500 freestyle, Claire Kemmere placed 13th overall with a season-best time of 4:56.71.
Toledo closed out competition with the 400 medley relay. The relay team of Hannah Wentzel, Grace Henely, Maggie Spybrook and Lopes touched the wall with a final time of 3:45.81 to place ninth.

Toledo continues action at the 2026 MAC Championships on Friday. Preliminaries begin at 10:00 a.m. with finals kicking off at 6:00 p.m. Both sets of events will be streamed on ESPN+.
