Rockets making push toward sixth-consecutive Top Four MAC finish
TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo men's basketball team (13-13, 7-6 MAC) will play the first of back-to-back home games when it hosts Eastern Michigan (10-17, 4-10 MAC) on Saturday, Feb. 21. Tip-off time for the Rockets' lone matchup vs. the Eagles this season is set for 5:00 p.m. in Savage Arena with streaming on ESPN+.
The Rockets are currently in fifth place in the Mid-American Conference standings, a half-game behind Ohio and a half-game in front of Bowling Green. Toledo is looking to rebound from Saturday's 80-70 defeat to the Falcons.
Sonny Wilson led Toledo with a game-high 20 points against Bowling Green, but an early second-half surge by the Falcons proved to be the difference. Also scoring in double figures for the Rockets were Leroy Blyden Jr. (13 pts.), Sean Craig (12 pts.) and Will James Jr. (10 pts.).
The Rockets led by as many as six points in the first half and trailed by just a bucket, 37-35, at halftime. A Blyden jumper cut the margin to 64-55 with 7:45 to play, but the Rockets could get no closer.
Toledo is led by the backcourt duo of Wilson (17.3 ppg) and Blyden (15.8 ppg) along with the frontcourt tandem of Craig (12.0 ppg) and Austin Parks (11.2 ppg).
