ALLENDALE, Mich. / INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Toledo junior Laura Acuña broke the program record in the 600m at the Heartland Invitational in Indianapolis, Ind. on Friday evening.
Acuña crossed the finish line with a mark of 1:34.08 to take third overall in the event. In the 3000m at the Heartland Invitational, Dorcas Jeptoo Kiptanui earned a second-place finish with a time of 9:31.98, marking the top collegiate finisher in the field amongst other conference opponents. Jaydon Cirincione also turned in a top-10 finish, tallying a mark of 9:40.90 to take ninth. In the men's 3000, Joad Martinho won the event with a final time of 7:56.58.
At the GVSU Big Meet in Allendale, Mich., Kennadi Galy (400m), Sydney Stepanovich (60m, 200m) and Hailey Slagle (60m) all set personal best tines. Alissa Magao placed 10th overall in the 400m (59.09) while Stepanovich took 15th overall in the 200m (25.00).
