Toledo to Visit Kent State for National TV Matchup

Rockets and Golden Flashes are tied for second place in MAC and will tip off at 6:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo men's basketball team (10-7, 4-1 MAC) will travel to Northeast Ohio on Friday, Jan. 16 for a national-television matchup vs. Kent State (13-4, 4-1 MAC). Tip-off time between the Rockets and Golden Flashes from the M.A.C. Center is set for 6:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network. Toledo and Kent State are tied with Akron for second place in the Mid-American Conference standings.
The Rockets put on an offensive show in Tuesday's 101-85 win over Ohio, shooting a blistering 61.9% from the field to extend their winning streak to 10 in a row against the Bobcats.
Sonny Wilson and Leroy Blyden Jr. topped UT offensively with 25 and 24 points, respectively. Sean Craig (15 pts., 10 reb.) and Austin Parks (13 pts., 5 reb.) controlled the paint and helped the Rockets register a 33-27 advantage on the boards.
Toledo fell behind early, 22-9, less than six minutes into the game before rallying to take a 52-50 halftime lead. Wilson ignited the Rockets in the second half with two quick baskets and a three-pointer that gave UT a double-digit lead, 65-54, at the 17:08 mark. Toledo's lead didn't drop below 11 the rest of the way.
The Rockets are led by the backcourt trio of Wilson (16.9 ppg), Blyden (15.4 ppg), and Kyler Vanderjagt (11.3 ppg) along with the frontcourt tandem of Craig (13.1 ppg) and Parks (10.9 ppg).
Kent State bounced back from an 87-85 defeat at Central Michigan last Saturday with Tuesday's 87-81 victory over Buffalo. The Golden Flashes are 9-1 at home this season.
Senior forward Delrecco Gillespie is averaging a team-high 19.3 ppg for KSU and leads the nation with 12.6 rpg.
