Eagles' match-winner scored in the 63rd minute
TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo women's soccer team fell in a 1-0 decision to Eastern Michigan off a second-half tally by the Eagles at Paul Hotmer Field on Sunday.
Â
The Rockets (3-2-3, 0-1-1 MAC) played scoreless with the Eagles (4-4-0, 2-0-0) until a 63rd-minute goal that stood as the winner. EMU led in shots, 9-6, while corner kicks were tied, 2-2. Toledo kept close thanks to the goaltending efforts of Agnes Stenlund, who made six saves, one away from matching her season high.

QUOTING HEAD COACH MARK BATMAN
"Really tough. This is the first game we've been shut out, so that's frustrating. Lots of youth out there today and I think we made some youthful mistakes in critical moments that probably cost us. A positive piece is these young kids are getting tons of experience and through two to three years they will be a bit different. We'll reset and get back to it next week."
Â
STAT LEADERS
The Rockets head on the road next week, beginning with a matchup at Central Michigan on Thursday, Sept. 25. Kickoff against the Chippewas is at 7:00 p.m.
