CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Toledo women's basketball team will open its 2025-26 season at Troy as part of the MAC-SBC Challenge on Nov. 3, the Mid-American Conference announced on Tuesday.
 
The matchup against the Trojans, set to be played at Trojan Arena in Troy, Ala., will mark the first round of the Challenge. Each of the 13 MAC women's programs will travel to face a Sun Belt opponent in the November matchups.
 
Toledo will face Troy for the third time in program history and for the first time on the road. Troy took a 71-64 victory on Dec. 19, 2019 at the South Point Holiday Classic in Las Vegas. Toledo won a 70-62 decision on Dec. 18, 2024 at the Cherokee Invitational in Cherokee, N.C.
 
The Nov. 3 matchup will open Toledo's second season under Head Coach Ginny Boggess. The Rockets went 24-9 (13-5 MAC) last season, finishing second in the league and reaching the MAC Tournament Championship Game. The Rockets went on to a second-straight appearance in the WBIT.
 
Troy put together a 24-14 (13-5 SBC) record in 2024-25, finishing third in the Sun Belt standings. Troy fell to SBC Tournament winner Arkansas State in the semifinals. The Trojans then appeared in the WNIT, reaching the tournament championship game before falling to Buffalo.
 
Later in the season, the Rockets will host a second Sun Belt opponent at Savage Arena on Feb. 7. Matchups will be determined in mid-January based on NET rankings.
 
The MAC-SBC Challenge enters its third season, and Toledo holds a 4-0 all-time record in the Challenge. The Rockets have claimed victories over James Madison, ULM, Marshall and Old Dominion in the series.
 
Toledo's full 2025-26 non-conference schedule will be announced in the coming days.
