TOLEDO, Ohio - The University of Toledo men's golf program placed four student-athletes on the Academic All-MAC team, the league office announced on Wednesday. The Rockets' four honorees mark the seventh-straight season that four or more Toledo golfers have been honored.
Senior
Jamie Butler, senior
CJ van Wyk, junior
Mads Jensen and sophomore
Mason Deal were each honored for the first time. All four Rockets possess a grade-point average of 3.7 or higher. Butler is leading the Rockets with a 3.949 grade-point average, while Deal possesses a 3.911 mark.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. First-year students and transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
