Sophomore duo receives honors for first time in career
CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Toledo women's tennis team placed two student-athletes on the Academic All-MAC Team for the 2025 season, the league office announced on Friday.
Sophomores Jone Ibanez and Gaby Rondon earned the academic honor for the first time in their careers. Both Rockets were named to the College Sport Communications (CSC) Academic All-District Team on Tuesday.
Ibanez owns a 3.58 GPA as a bioengineering major, while Rondon boasts a 3.60 GPA as a pre-business major.
To qualify, student-athletes must be a sophomore or higher academic standing, have maintained a 3.20 GPA or higher and competed in 50% of contests during the 2025 season.
