Rockets’ Offense Scorches in 11-5 Series-Clinching Win Against Central Michigan

Toledo collects 22 hits, its most in a game since 2023

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo baseball team collected 22 hits in another scorching offensive effort to clinch another Mid-American Conference series win with an 11-5 victory over Central Michigan at Scott Park on Friday.

The Rockets (27-27, 16-13 MAC) scored the final 10 runs of the game to quickly erase a 5-1 deficit to the Chippewas (20-34, 11-18 MAC). Toledo scored four in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game and put the game away with three runs in both the sixth and seventh innings. The Rockets have won four-straight MAC games and six of seven. Toledo won its fifth-straight MAC series, the first time it has won five conference series in a row since winning six straight in 2015.

The 22 hits were Toledo's most since March 25, 2023, when the Rockets totaled 23 hits against Akron. Rocket pitching recorded 15 strikeouts, Toledo's second-most in a game.

Quoting Head Coach Rob Reinstetle

I like how we are playing heading into the tournament. With tomorrow being Senior Day, we need to play well and send the seniors off on a high note in their final game at Scott Park."
