TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's track and field team continues the outdoor portion of its season at the Jesse Owens Classic in Columbus, Ohio on Friday-Saturday, May 2-3. Sixteen Rockets will see action as competition kicks off with the javelin throw at 2:00 p.m. on Friday and the triple jump at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Nora Hark,
Sydney Caddell,
Chloe Pyles and
Hailey Slagle will compete in field and sprint events while 12 distance runners will compete in the 1500m, 5000m and 800m.
LAST TIME OUT
Laura Nicholson ran the 17
th-fastest 1500m time in NCAA history and placed second in the event with a time of 4:07.17 en route to breaking the program record at the Wake Forest Invitational on April 18.
Lianna Surtz (4:23.27) and
Alex Bauer (4:26.26) also competed in the 1500m race.
Emily Vining took 10
th in the 3000m steeplechase (10:43.98) while
Karina James placed 10
th in the 1500m open (4:27.42).
At the GINA Relays in Hillsdale, Mich.,
Makenna Englund placed third in the high jump (1.54m) while
Bella Earl earned a third-place finish in the 1500m (4:34.00). Pyles took third in the triple jump (10.65m) while Caddell recorded a fifth-place finish in the long jump and sixth-place finish in the 100m.
