ATHENS, Ohio – The Toledo softball team dropped the opener of a three-game series to Ohio, 3-2, on Friday afternoon in Athens, Ohio.

Toledo (10-23, 3-9 MAC) was led by senior infielder Eli Enriquez, who went 2-for-3 with a double and knocked in a run. The senior has recorded multiple hits in each of the Rockets' last three games, and has 10 multi-hit games this season.

Senior pitcher Sophia Knight went the distance for Toledo, giving up two earned runs in six innings. She tallied four strikeouts on the afternoon, moving her career total to 350 which ranks eighth all-time in program history.

• Toledo evened the contest, 1-1, with an RBI single up the middle from Kendra VanderLugt.
• The Bobcats regained the lead in the fourth off a single and an error, 3-1.
• An RBI single from Eli Enriquez got the Rockets within one, 3-2, in the fifth.
