RALEIGH, N.C. – Senior
Laura Nicholson broke the program record in the 5000m to lead the Toledo women's track and field team at the Raleigh Relays on Friday evening.
Nicholson recorded a final time of 15:33.04 in her debut 5000m, breaking the school record by 26 seconds. Nicholson placed second overall in the event in a highly competitive national field.
Lianna Surtz followed behind with a PR time of 16:32.68 to take 64
th in the event.
Karina James (16:37.29),
Alex Bauer (16:37.45),
Morgan Hicks (16:54.61) and
Bailey Ranta (16:54.61) rounded out the Rockets who competed in the 5000m.
Senior
Emily Vining competed in the 3000m steeplechase, finishing 30
th with a final time of 10:43.85.
Gabby Phelan saw action in the 1500m, recording a final time of 4:30.57.
