BUFFALO, N.Y. – Toledo sophomore
Leah Evans broke the school record in the 100 backstroke with a final time of 53.67 on the second day of the Mid-American Conference Championship on Thursday in Buffalo, N.Y.
Evans bested the record during the 400 medley relay. The sophomore was joined by
Mackenzie Bushey,
Kenzie Myco and
Janne Slegers in the event, recording a final time of 3:45.25 to place eighth in the relay.
The Rockets currently stand in eighth place overall, totaling 75 points throughout the first two days of competition.
Toledo had two swimmers qualify for the B finals in the 500 freestyle relay. Freshman
Rosie Richards took 15
th with a time of 4:59.83. Graduate student
Nejla Karic followed behind, touching the wall with a final time of 5:03.85 to place 16
th.
UP NEXT
Toledo will continue competition in the MAC Championships on Friday with preliminaries at 10:00 a.m. and finals starting at 6:00 p.m.
