Leah Evans and Lindsay Bright each tally NIC B cut times to qualify for postseason competition
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Junior Leah Evans tallied a time of 1:57.52 in the 200 backstroke, the fourth-fastest time in program history, as the Toledo women's swimming & diving team fell at Indiana State on Saturday afternoon, 229-68.
Evans won the 200 back with her final time while also earning a B cut final to qualify for the National Invitational Championship (NIC) postseason event in March.
The Rockets tallied 10 podium finishes during their final non-conference dual meet.
Senior Janne Slegers won the 100 free with a final mark of 50.81, placed second in the 200 IM (2:06.91) and helped the 200 medley relay team to a third-place finish with a time of 1:45.22. Sophomore Grace Henely recorded a second-place finish in the 200 breast (2:21.18) and placed third in the 100 breast (1:05.63).
Freshman Lindsay Bright touched the wall with a time of 10:20.16 in the 1000 free to also earn a B cut final for the NIC. Fellow freshman Tiana Temelkova earned a third-place finish in the 100 free with a mark of 53.66.

"I'm very happy with how we raced today. We had a lot of best times, NIC qualifying cuts, top 10 movements and great energy. Indiana state really swam well and it was great competing against them. They helped make us better today. Each meet, we continue to race better and dive better. We can't wait to see what this team does at our Blue/Gold invite in a couple weeks."
