TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's basketball team faces an important midweek matchup on Wednesday night at Savage Arena, facing a Ball State team that is undefeated in conference play. Tipoff will be at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN+, with radio broadcasts on WCWA 1230 AM and The Varsity Network app.
The matchup pits the two top teams in the Mid-American Conference, with Ball State (20-5, 12-0 MAC) three games ahead of the Rockets (18-5, 9-3 MAC). Toledo holds the second-place position in the league standings from a head-to-head tiebreaker with Buffalo.
The Rockets enter the matchup on a season-long six-game winning streak after defeating Akron, 75-54, at home on Saturday. Toledo out-scored the Zips, 48-27, in the second half to complete the regular-season sweep. Khera Goss and Sammi Mikonowicz each scored 16 points, with Goss shooting 3-of-6 from three-point range and Mikonowicz going 8-of-8 at the free-throw line. The Rockets are 10-1 at home this season.
The Cardinals defeated Eastern Michigan, 74-69, in Ypsilanti on Saturday. Ally Becki finished with 20 points on 6-of-8 from the field and 7-of-7 at the free throw line. Alex Richard added 18 points on 7-of-11 from the field and grabbed nine rebounds. Ball State is 8-2 in away games this season.
