Oregon scores five runs in first three innings to take series
EUGENE, Ore. – The Toledo baseball team suffered a 6-1 setback to close out its four-game series at No. 12 Oregon, with the Ducks taking the series at PK Park on Sunday.
Â
The Rockets (1-3) fell victim to early runs and only managed four hits against a strong pitching effort from Oregon. The Ducks (3-1) scored a run in the first inning, three in the second and one more in the third, taking a 5-1 lead which they would maintain until a late home run.
Â
Quoting Head Coach Rob Reinstetle:
"Oregon is a really good team. We learned a lot about ourselves this weekend. I never like to lose, but there are positives to be taken away from these four games. We will regroup this week and hit the areas where we need to improve. Overall, this weekend was a good starting point, and we will move on from here."
