Toledo wins sixth-straight game behind 16 points apiece from Khera Goss and Sammi Mikonowicz
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's basketball team won its sixth consecutive game thanks to double-figure scoring from Khera Goss, Sammi Mikonowicz, Nan Garcia and Kendall Carruthers in its 75-54 victory over Akron at Savage Arena on Saturday.

Tied 27-27 in the second half, the Rockets (18-5, 9-3 MAC) out-scored the Zips (9-16, 3-9 MAC) 28-18 in the third quarter and 20-9 in the fourth.Â

"We knew it was going to be a dogfight. Akron is a really well-coached team. I'm really proud of our effort in the second half and our response. We knew they were going to make it hard and they definitely did. Great minutes off the bench from Nan Garcia, Evalyse Cole, Faith Fedd-Robinson and Destiny Robinson. We're starting to figure things out and are playing really good basketball together heading into a very big game (vs. Ball State) on Wednesday."

- The Zips took a 6-0 lead in the first quarter at the 6:05 mark of the first quarter, before the Rockets responded with five-straight of their own to get on the board.
- Akron grabbed a 16-12 lead at the end of the first, scoring the last five points of the period.
- The Rockets pulled ahead, 21-18 with a 9-2 run to start the second quarter.
- Toledo and Akron battled back-and-forth and went into halftime even at 27-27. The Rockets' defense held the Zips to 1-of-8 from three-point range.

- The Rockets out-shot Akron 45.5%-36.0% on the afternoon. Toledo shot 61.6% (16-of-26) in the second half.
- UT won the turnover battle, with 12 turnovers committed compared to 17 from Akron. The Rockets dominated in points off turnovers, 26-6.

- The Rockets' defense held its fifth-straight opponent under 60 points.
