Chip Trayanum Earns MAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week

TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo senior running back Chip Trayanum was named the Mid-American Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week for Week 13, the league office announced on Monday morning.

Trayanum rushed for 128 yards on 15 carries and a touchdown, averaging 8.5 yards per carry, including a 31-yard rush in the first quarter. The effort was Trayanum's fourth game of at least 100 rushing yards this season and the eighth-straight game in which he has produced a rushing score.

He also reached a milestone with 2,000 career rushing yards, between his time at Arizona State, Ohio State, Kentucky and Toledo.

In nine games this season, Trayanum is second in the MAC in average rushing yards (95.1) and yards per carry (5.7), and third in the league in rushing TDs (10).

Trayanum was named Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, having also taken the award after Week 2 against Western Kentucky.

The Akron, Ohio native's performance helped Toledo to a dominating, 38-9 victory over Ball State at the Glass Bowl on Saturday, where Toledo kept its hopes alive for the MAC Championship Game. Toledo also clinched a perfect 6-0 home record for the second time in three seasons

Toledo (7-4, 5-2 MAC) meets with Central Michigan (7-4, 5-2 MAC) on Saturday at noon in the regular season finale.
