Faith Fedd-Robinson sets career highs with 19 points and eight rebounds
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Toledo women's basketball team fell behind in the late stages, losing on the road at Northern Kentucky, 70-61, at Truist Arena on Wednesday.
Â
The Rockets (1-3) led by as many as eight points in the first half and carried a 31-27 edge at the break. However, the Norse (1-4) grabbed the lead in the third quarter and rallied again in the fourth, never relinquishing their edge over the final 8:40. Toledo pulled within a possession twice in the game's final five minutes, but the Norse scored the last seven points to secure the victory.
Â
Toledo held a 32-30 rebounding edge and turnovers were tied, 17-17. The Norse took advantage of 10 more free throw attempts, outscoring Toledo 19-13 at the stripe. NKU also held a 35.7%-20.0% edge from three-point range.
Â
Quoting Head Coach Ginny Boggess
"I thought NKU looked more desperate for an outcome than we did. We fouled them way too many times and put them on the line, gave up too many offensive rebounds and turned the ball over. We're not going to have the outcome that we'd like to have if we don't execute those fundamental parts of the game. We need to get our connectivity back on offense."
Â
Rocket Leaders
Faith Fedd-Robinson – 19 points, 8-of-11 FG, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block
Kendall Carruthers – 11 points, 4-of-9 FG, 4 steals, 2 assists
How It Happened
Toledo finishes the road swing on Tuesday, Nov. 25, taking on Youngstown State. Tipoff is at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
