Rockets Battle to 0-0 Draw with Bowling Green

Toledo allows just one shot on goal in Battle of I-75

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo women's soccer team was locked in a defensive battle all night, finishing in a 0-0 draw with Bowling Green in the Battle of I-75 at Paul Hotmer Field on Thursday.

The Rockets (3-3-5, 0-2-3 MAC) finished with their third shutout of the season and first since August 31. Toledo shut out the Falcons (7-1-4, 2-0-3 MAC) for the first time since Oct. 9, 2015.

The Rockets led in shots, 5-3 and shots on goal, 3-1. Corners favored Bowling Green, 3-2. The one shot on goal allowed by UT is the fewest since the Rockets allowed none to St. Francis in a 3-0 victory on Aug. 31.

QUOTING HEAD COACH MARK BATMAN
"I thought we were pretty gritty. I thought we were really good defensively. We frustrated them in some really good moments. I'm glad we got the result after back-to-back losses against them. I think it was a really good performance from our group tonight.

STAT LEADERS KEY MOMENTS
  • 33' | Gabrielle Anulare got a strong header off a corner kick, but the attempt was right at the goalkeeper
  • 36' | A Bowling Green shot hit from outside the box hit the crossbar.
  • 77' | Molly Kennedy made a dangerous run in behind, but was just away from the through pass.
