Toledo visits Ypsilanti following consecutive home triumphs
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's basketball team begins February with a Mid-American Conference matchup at Eastern Michigan on Saturday, Feb. 1. Tipoff from the Gervin GameAbove Center will be at 2:00 p.m. with streaming on ESPN+ and radio broadcasts on WCWA 1230 AM and The Varsity Network app.

Toledo (14-5, 6-3 MAC) is in fourth place in the MAC standings following a pair of home victories over Bowling Green and Miami. In their 64-59 win over Miami on Wednesday, the Rockets built up a lead as big as 18 in the first half, and used key free throws to pull out the victory in the fourth quarter after Miami rallied in the second half. Sammi Mikonowicz and Kendall Carruthers each scored 17 points on the evening, with Mikonowicz shooting 5-of-8 from the field, while Carruthers knocked down all eight attempts at the free throw line.

The Eagles (1-18, 0-9 MAC) fell 79-59 on the road at Kent State on Wednesday. EMU was led by Sisi Eleko with 24 points, including 9-of-16 from the field while Olivia Smith added 16 points.

Toledo leads the all-time series 58-36 and is 26-18 in Ypsilanti. The Rockets have won seven straight games overall against the Eagles.

Sammi Mikonowicz Secures her 1,000th Career Rebound
- Sammi Mikonowicz put herself in rare company on Wednesday, grabbing her 1,000th career rebound.
- She became just the second player in program history to reach 1,000 rebounds, joining Angela Drake (1993-97), who secured 1,087 rebounds all-time.
- Mikonowicz and Drake also make up Toledo's 1,000-point/1,000-rebound club, with Mikonowicz scoring 1,399 points while Drake scoring 1,952 during her career.
- The Rossford, Ohio native is the only active MAC player with 1,000 rebounds and one of 17Â current Division I players with 1,000 boards.
- Toledo is 5-4 away from Savage Arena this season and 3-3 in true road games.
- The Rockets are 2-2 on the road in league play, picking up MAC victories against Akron on Jan. 4 and Central Michigan on Jan. 11.
