Toledo Athletics Announces 2024 Homecoming Promotions

TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo Athletics today announced details for its 2024 Homecoming Game on Saturday, Oct. 5. The Rockets host Miami in a rematch of the 2023 MAC Championship Game in a 3:30 p.m. kickoff at the Glass Bowl.

Homecoming kicks off with the annual Edward C. and Helen G. Schmakel Homecoming Parade at 10:00 a.m. Interim UToledo President Matt Schroeder will serve as the parade's grand marshal. Rocket teams will also be appearing in the parade, which runs through the Old Orchard neighborhood adjacent to campus. Click here for Parade Route.

Pre-game activities get underway at 1:00 p.m. with the Rocket Walk. The Touchdown Town youth activities area at Paul Hotmer Field and the Beer Garden also open at 1:00. Live music from Pop's Garage begins at 1:15.

Rocket fans can get a preview of the men's basketball team as well, when it hosts an open scrimmage at Savage Arena from noon-1:30 p.m.

MAC championship teams from 1969, 1984 and 2004 will be honored throughout the game.

10:00 a.m.

Homecoming Parade: The Edward C. and Helen G. Schmakel Homecoming Parade runs through the Old Orchard neighborhood. The grand marshal is UToledo Interim President Matt Schroeder. Details for the parade can be found here: https://www.utoledo.edu/homecoming/parade.html.

Noon

Men's basketball open scrimmage at Savage Arena from noon-1:30 p.m.

12:30 p.m.

Alumni Pregame Party at the William and Carol Koester Alumni Pavilion

1:00 p.m.

Rocket Walk: Cheer on the Rockets as they walk to the locker room through Lot 10 before the game!
Beer Garden: The Beer Garden, located in parking area 10, opens at 1:00 p.m. Tickets for the Beer Garden are $35 and include a game ticket on the east sideline, two drink vouchers and a $5 food voucher. Click here for tickets to the Beer Garden.
Big Screen TV: Check out college football games around the country before you head into the Glass Bowl on big screens located in parking area 10 and in the Launch Pad Student Tailgate.
Touchdown Town & Kid Zone: Kids of all ages can have a ball with inflatables and other activities at Touchdown Town and the Kid Zone. The family-friendly fun begins 2 ½ hours prior to kickoff at Touchdown Town located at Paul Hotmer Field! The fun continues inside the Glass Bowl with the Kid Zone located on the east side of the stadium.

1:15 p.m.

Live Music: Enjoy live music from Pop's Garage in parking area 10!

3:30 p.m. - Game time!

Touchdown Tank: Someone gets dunked after every Toledo touchdown!
Fireworks: We will be blasting the fireworks when the Rockets take the field, after every touchdown and after every Rocket victory!
Rocket Motorsports Car: We have partnered with the College of Engineering and the University of Toledo Formula SAE Racing team to create a high-powered entrance when our team takes the field.
Football Reunion Teams: The 1969, 1984 and 2004 MAC Championship teams will be honored during the game.
Cheer & Mascot Reunion: Cheerleader and mascot alumni will be honored during pregame, and cheer alumni will perform.
