TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo's Madison Giglio and Lauren Kilgore were named Second-Team Scholar All-Americans by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) this week for their academic achievements during the 2023-24 season. This is the third consecutive honor for Giglio and a first for Kilgore.

Giglio earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering this past May with a 3.91 GPA and was also a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-American, CSC Academic All-District, and Academic All-MAC in her final year in the Midnight Blue & Gold. A native of Orland Park, Ill., Giglio received the Check Ealey College Undefeated Spirit Award this year. She ended her collegiate career with a 34th finish on the three-meter and 44th place finish on the one-meter board at the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships.

Kilgore's honor is adding to her list of academic accomplishments this season: CSC Academic All-American, CSC Academic All-District, Academic All-MAC, and MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week. Kilgore, also a second-team All-MAC honoree, is working towards a Doctor of Pharmacy with a 3.93 GPA and is one of the most accomplished swimmers in Toledo's history. She has three relay school records, holds the 100 butterfly (53.46) school record, and set the 200 IM (2:02.62) UT Student Recreation Center Pool record.

The CSCAA 2024 Individual Scholar All-America team recognized over 2,000 men's and women's student-athletes for their academic achievements during the 2023-24 season. First-team honorees must achieve a minimum 3.5 GPA or higher and participate at their national championship meet. A second-team selection must also earn at least a 3.5 GPA or higher and meet a "B" time standard for the national championship or qualifies for a diving zone qualification meet.

Most recently, Toledo earned its eighth consecutive Scholar All-America Team honors for posting a combined 3.72 GPA in the 2024 spring semester.
