Seven Rockets earn at least a 3.5 GPA or higher, led by sophomore Grace O’Malley with a 4.0 GPA
TOLEDO, Ohio – Ten student-athletes from the Toledo softball team earned a spot on the 2024 Softball Academic All-MAC Team, the Mid-American Conference office announced on Tuesday. Utility player Grace O'Malley led the team with a perfect 4.0 GPA and Second Team All-MAC honoree Riley Mohr earned her fourth conference academic honor of her Toledo career.
Mohr was named MAC Female Scholar Athlete of the Week on March 13 to go with her Academic All-MAC selection. Outfielder Lexi Eckman, outfielder Lauren Erickson, infielder Jenna Kroll, and outfielder Madison Mikulski each earned their third consecutive MAC academic recognition. At the same time, second baseman Sidney Griffith is now a two-time Academic All-MAC athlete. Catcher Maris Barbato, pitcher Sophia Knight, O'Malley, and outfielder Kendra VanderLugt are honored for the first time in their respective careers.
This is the second academic recognition for the Rockets this postseason after shortstop Eli Enriquez, Erickson, Griffith, Mohr, and VanderLugt were named to the CSC Academic All-District Team on May 28.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for student-athletes who have excelled athletically and academically. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
