TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo women's basketball team hosts Kent State on Saturday (2:00 p.m./ESPN+) with a chance earn its third consecutive outright regular season Mid-American Conference title.
Toledo (24-4, 16-1 MAC) clinched at least a share of the MAC title following its 87-41 victory over Eastern Michigan on Wednesday. The Rockets need a win over the Golden Flashes (18-9, 12-4 MAC) or a loss from second-place Ball State (26-4, 15-2 MAC) at Buffalo to earn the outright crown and the No. 1 seed at next week's MAC Tournament. If Toledo and Ball State end up in a first-place tie, the Cardinals would get the No. 1 seed by tie-breaker (2-0 vs. third-place Kent State).
Senior Day
Saturday will be the final home game for four Toledo seniors: Soleil Barnes, Yaniah Curry, Quinesha Lockett and Sophia Wiard. They will be recognized in a ceremony following the contest.
This senior class has won three MAC regular season championships, one MAC Tournament title and won an NCAA Tournament game in 2023. Their record over the last three years is 82-15, over the past four years is 94-27 and over the last five years is 108-44.
Last Time Out
Senior guard Soleil Barnes came off the bench to lead the Rockets with a season-high tying 14 points in an 87-41 win over Eastern Michigan at Savage Arena on Wednesday. Toledo's bench contributed 50 points, outscoring both the Rocket starting five and the entire Eagles' lineup. Junior Emmi Rinat chipped in with a career-high 10 assists in a reserve role.
