CINCINNATI, Ohio – Sophomore
Michaela McGill took third place in the 5000m to lead the Toledo women's track & field team at the Oliver Nikoloff Invite in Cincinnati on Saturday.
McGill was one of 14 women competing on the track and in field events on Saturday. Members of the Toledo men's cross country team also had runners compete in the 1500m and the 5000m.
McGill had a time of 18:18.45 in the 5000m to take third in the field of 23 runners.
Other highlights for the Toledo women included sophomore
Cadence Christie (2:19.81) and senior
Paige Embaugh (2:20.92) finishing eighth and 11
th, respectively, in the 800m. Both times are among the top 10 in the Mid-American Conference so far this year.
Freshman
Peter McMahon was the top finisher for the men, placing 11
th in the 5000m with a time of 15:17.23.
The Rockets will be back in action on Friday, April 5 at the Spartan Invitational in East Lansing, Mich.
