Janne Slegers leads Rockets at CSCAA NIC, Madison Giglio concludes her Rocket career at NCAA Zones
OCALA, Fla. – Toledo sophomore Janne Slegers took 26th-place in the 200 freestyle to lead the handful of Rocket swimmers competing at the CSCAA National Invitational Championships in Ocala, Fla. on Friday.
The 200 medley relay team of Madeline Blakely, Slegers, Kennedy Lovell, and Sarah Kate Glosson were clocked in at 1:48.78 to open day two at Florida Aquatic Swimming & Training (FAST). Slegers and senior Kennedy Lovell got back in the pool for the 200 freestyle, finishing 26th and 34th, respectively, and missed qualifying for the finals heat. As a team, Toledo has scored 19 points overall.
Day three at the CSCAA NIC will continue for Toledo's five swimmers on Saturday morning, starting with prelims at 9:30 a.m. and final events at 6:00 p.m.
Also competing on Friday was senior Madison Giglio, who closed out her Rocket career with a 233.65 score on the three-meter board and 34th-place finish at the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships in Louisville, Ky.
